This is an exciting time to get involved with Pain Free Clinic. When we are up and running, we will be providing affordable, long-term pain management for anyone who needs it. We will be extending the benefits of acupuncture to those who have been excluded. We know how to manage chronic pain with acupuncture, and we know what it normally costs. Pain Free Clinic will bridge the gap between suffering and affordability. We will reduce some patient’s reliance on opioids, we will help others to never start. We will care for those whose prescriptions have been cut for political reasons, in spite of their continued suffering. If you join us now, here at the ground floor, you will be a part of bringing all of this into existence.
But we are not up and running yet. When Pain Free Clinic opens its doors this fall, when our first patient walks through the door, then we can begin the work of treating pain. That part won’t be easy, but we’ve spent many years preparing for it and we are ready. The work we have to do now is different, and in many ways much harder. We are building the foundation of the clinic, from material to legal. To get that work done we really need your help.
What we are looking for now is money for supplies. In the future, when it comes to replenishing, this will be an easy ask. An acupuncture needle costs about 4 cents. If, say, 8 needles are used in a treatment, that’ll cost 32 cents per patient. Plus, we’ll need soap to wash our hands. Right now it’s a bit more complicated. We need every bit of everything that goes into a clinic, from treatment tables to waiting room magazines. We need computers, printers and electronic health records software. We need heat lamps, floor lamps, emergency flashlights, and the money to turn those light on. We need to insure ourselves. We need help.
We need you.
We are committed to lessening the suffering in our community. Please build this clinic with us so that our work can begin.
